Executive Director

Brother Donald Blauvelt, CSC, accepted the position of executive director, effective July 1, 2012. Brother Donald has had a long and fruitful association with the Institute, serving as the Board’s first chairperson and continuing his involvement through the time he served as Provincial of the South-West Province.
“We are very enthusiastic about the gifts and experiences Brother Donald brings to the position and look forward to working with him as we move forward,” says Brother Ken Haders, chair of the HCI Board of Directors.
Brother Donald is an experienced educator and administrator of middle and secondary schools, and has chaired multiple mission assessment visits. He has served as both Provincial Superior and Assistant Provincial, and as Councilor for Schools for the CSC Moreau Province, as well as on the Board of Trustees of St. Edward's University. He currently serves on the Board of Regents of Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans.

Board Member Profile – Daniel Curtin
From being the first lay principal of a Holy Cross school in the 1980s, to being honored with the Benemerenti Medal from Pope Benedict XVI in 2011, Daniel Curtin has a long history in Holy Cross and Catholic education. Today he continues his service by being an adjunct instructor at two Catholic universities, serving on two Holy Cross secondary school boards as well as two higher-education advisory committees, and is a Consultant for Catholic Education for the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia.
