People of the Holy Cross Institute
Executive Director. At the helm of the institute, Brother Stephen Walsh,

consultant. Read about his background and vision.
Board of Governors. Comprising lay and religious, male and female, this leadership
team embodies the collaborative spirit that has imbued our educators from the beginning. Drawn
from Holy Cross schools, colleges and universities, the governors
represent the institute’s key sponsors, the three North American provinces of the Congregation
of Holy Cross and St. Edward’s University:

- Brother Jerome Donnelly, CSC, president, Holy Cross High School, Waterbury, Connecticut
Midwest Province
- Brother Ken Haders, CSC, president, Archbishop Hoban High School, Akron, Ohio
- Brother Robert E. Lavelle, CSC, headmaster, Gilmour Academy, Gates Mills, Ohio
South-West Province
- Brother Richard Daly, CSC, Provincial Councilor
- Patricia Geister, former principal, Moreau Catholic High School, Hayward, Calif.
St. Edward’s University
- Sister Donna Jurick, SND, executive vice president
and provost
- Robert Lueger, associate provost
The place from which we lead. The campus of St. Edward’s
University became the home for Holy Cross Institute based on:
- The leadership of South-West Province schools in addressing common issues from a mission
perspective.
- The support, both philosophical and financial,
of President George E. Martin.
- The rich diversity of St. Edward’s, which reflects the
family of Holy Cross schools and their commitment to provide educational access to all.
- The shared goal of university and institute: to renew and expand the spirit of Holy Cross.
