Holy Cross Schools, Colleges and Universities
Mission-driven initiatives at our
institutions nationwide have established powerful precedents the Holy Cross Institute can build
on. Examples include:
- The Table. In 1993, South-West Province principals and presidents, Board leaders and other committed lay people and religious began meeting twice a year to discuss common issues and initiatives.
- Mission Seminars. A combination of reflection and action planning, have brought together South-West Province educators with Holy Cross educators from around the country and the world.
- Holy Cross Conference for Student Leaders. Each summer students from different high schools meet at St. Edward’s University for community service, presentations on mission and heritage, study of leadership as mission, social justice and leadership at each school, and the students’ formulation of a unified Leadership Code.
- Immersion. A collaborative service project hosted by one campus, strengthens fellowship among Holy Cross educators and students through shared service and daily reflection. Individual schools sustain this experience through their own service and social justice programs throughout the year.
- Holy Cross Educational Ministries. The Holy Cross Education
Ministries was a mutual effort to enhance the mission effectiveness of schools sponsored by
the Midwest and Eastern Provinces of Holy Cross Brothers. Responsible for developing workshops
and creating materials for the purpose of enhancing mission awareness and effectiveness, its
initiatives have been assumed by the Holy Cross Institute.
